10 Ways Small Acts of Kindness Can Make a Big Difference

I have the philosophy of being an initiator of action in our own community and supporting others in doing the same! : )

Taking action can be demonstrated in small ways on a daily basis that can make a big difference.

A small act of kindness can create a positive feeling within an individual that can last throughout their whole day. Has anyone ever let you go in line in front of them if you only had 1 or 2 items to purchase? Or someone walked out of a store as you were walking in and offered a discount coupon to you that they were not going to use? And…you remember thinking and feeling that was really kind of that person…I believe these are great examples of taking small actions in our community that make a Big Difference because it inspires us to pay that action forward.

Here are 10 Ways Small Actions can make a difference, try one today!

  • Let someone go ahead of you in line at the store if you have multiple items and they have 1-2.
  • Pay the Bridge / Highway toll of someone behind you
  • Open the door / Hold the door for someone entering into the same place
  • Say “Thank you” for the great service you received at a store or restaurant and explained what the person did that was exceptional.
  • Smile and say “Hello” to people when entering into an elevator or passing them in a hallway or on the street
  • Give up your chair /seat on a subway bus or train to elderly, disabled or pregnant person
  • Pick up the lunch or dinner tab for a friend, just because
  • Bring your co-workers Muffins, Bagels or Donuts one day
  • Write a note to the superior of a co-worker sharing an exception story about something they did for the company
  • Give 5 sincere compliments to various people throughout one day and see how people light up
