The Itch to Travel… The Result of An Open Heart
I have always had the itch to travel, to get up and go and explore the unique world that we live in. I am not sure if it’s because I grew up in a small country town and the possibilities of the world seemed to so big and endless or if it’s something that was just innate in my personality and natural DNA. Regardless, traveling, exploring and learning about new places is something I will never get sick of and never stop.
I have not even scratched ⅓ of my list of places I would love to visit, see and explore. I feel like I have just started. I truly and wholeheartedly feel that when one travels (or at least I can say for myself ) that your heart opens.
When you see the world from a different perspective, your own your mind expands, your realities don’t seem to be only yours and you realize that the world revolves around each and every single person, place, and different reality that it makes up. We are a culmination of our realities built into one.
When I lived in Italy, I often compared life to the way of living and how I grew up in California. There were so many differences but yet, we lived on the same planet and existed in the same day. I knew that my life in Italy on a certain looked one way and that if I were living life in California on that same day the existence and my reality were totally different. Not one being right or one being wrong, they were just vastly different. Understanding and accepting this reality made my heart open to so many possibilities and has just kept my passion for travel and learning about other cultures to deepen.
I am a wiser person because of travel, a calmer person and a more compassionate person, because of this, I am just yearn to learn more, and travel more because I as a result experience a open heart.
I now encourage anyone who has the itch to travel through the world and visit other countries to do so. We all become more tolerant and compassionate towards each other. It creates peace in the world, understanding between cultures and opens your heart.
I would love to hear from you…Please share your stories of traveling to other countries with me and how your experiences open your heart.
